Company

hirify.global is an AI-native mineral exploration, mine development, and technology development company using data science, engineering, geology, and new sensing technologies to discover critical minerals.

What you will do

  • Own the technical development of mechanical and electrical systems for novel sensing and imaging instruments from concept and prototyping through validation, manufacturing, and deployment at remote field sites.
  • Define system architectures, evaluate technical tradeoffs, and coordinate internal and external hardware and software resources.
  • Collaborate with data systems and exploration teams to integrate new data streams into proprietary systems and support mineral exploration projects.
  • Develop product plans, mechanical and electrical designs, prototypes, production solutions, and measured-signal processing approaches.
  • Build partnerships and manage vendors and third-party contractors developing hardware solutions.
  • Help establish scalable hardware development tools, processes, and organizational practices.

Requirements

  • Successful experience developing and deploying complex, state-of-the-art scientific instruments, typically about five years after a PhD or corresponding experience after a BS or MS.
  • Experience deploying and supporting complex equipment at remote sites, including commissioning, validation, training, and monitoring.
  • Ability to perform technical lead, project manager, product manager, and hands-on engineering responsibilities across multiple areas.
  • Excellent communication skills in a highly interdisciplinary workplace.
  • Extensive experience with end-to-end technical product development from concept through testing and deployment; physical measurement and data analysis systems; emerging technology prototyping; automation; systems integration; and data acquisition.
  • Experience with mechanical or electrical design for scientific instruments and processing measured signals.
  • Experience selecting and managing vendors and third-party contractors.
  • Ability and desire to own large projects, independently prioritize multiple tasks, learn continuously, explain technical problems to non-hardware domain experts, and collaborate on solutions.
  • Comfort with a dynamic, fast-growing early-stage company and willingness to take on a range of responsibilities. Must have a valid passport and willingness to travel to Mingomba or exploration sites worldwide.

Nice to have

  • Product management experience for scientific hardware.
  • Experience with particle detectors, optics, and electronics.
  • Experience with seismic, acoustic, or other geophysical instrumentation.
  • Interest in mineral exploration and geology, including working directly with geologists in the field and using exploration tools.
  • Strong cross-company communication skills and interest in defining technical products that support business objectives.

Culture & Benefits

  • Work in a multidisciplinary environment with data scientists, engineers, geoscientists, and exploration specialists.
  • Contribute to innovative, scalable, and repeatable hardware development practices.
  • Full-time exempt position with opportunities to work on critical-mineral exploration and field technologies.
  • Travel includes domestic and international visits to exploration and development sites.
