Fixed Income Index Associate

Location: New York City, United States; hybrid working options available. This role is only being recruited in New York City.

Base salary: $80,000–$100,000 per year, plus bonus or sales incentive eligibility.

What you will do

• Monitor real-time market data and index calculation processes to ensure the accuracy and integrity of index values.
• Investigate calculation issues and exceptions and support index surveillance, governance, and operational activities.
• Oversee and coordinate with third-party calculation agents.
• Support ownership research and provide accurate client information through publications and notifications.
• Integrate new index concepts into monitoring and surveillance frameworks.
• Partner with IT and stakeholders on automation, process improvements, day-to-day operations, and strategic initiatives.

Requirements

• 1–2+ years of experience in a financial markets environment, preferably in the index industry, asset management, portfolio management, product development, structuring, or related financial services.
• Strong understanding of financial markets, market data, and principles governing index and portfolio valuation.
• Strong analytical and conceptual skills, including issue identification, solution evaluation, prioritization, and managing competing deadlines.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure, handle multiple tasks, and work and learn independently with minimal supervision.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
• Familiarity with market data platforms such as Bloomberg and Refinitiv.
• Strong attention to detail, issue investigation and escalation skills, excellent communication, and a collaborative approach across teams and functions.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Experience with fixed income portfolio management and valuation.
• Knowledge of corporate actions and their impact on index calculation methodologies.
• Experience in corporate actions management, index operations, securities operations, listed company operations, data analysis, data cleansing, or data processing.
• Additional language proficiency, such as Spanish, French, Italian, German, or Portuguese.
• Python, VBA, SQL, or database knowledge.
