Distinguished Risk Expert (Cybersecurity)

Location: Onsite at the Bentonville, Arkansas or Herndon, Virginia, United States offices.

Annual salary: $130,000–$260,000 in Bentonville, Arkansas; $156,000–$312,000 in Herndon, Virginia. Additional annual or quarterly performance bonuses and possible stock compensation may apply.

What you will do

• Serve as a senior enterprise expert in cybersecurity risk, regulatory compliance, assurance, and emerging technology risk.
• Assess risks related to AI, autonomous agents, third parties, cloud technologies, and evolving digital ecosystems.
• Translate regulatory, industry, and audit expectations into actionable controls and governance practices.
• Establish enterprise approaches for evaluating, prioritizing, and communicating risk while identifying systemic control weaknesses.
• Develop scalable remediation strategies and monitor evolving AI regulations and audit expectations.
• Advance AI-enabled assessment and remediation capabilities to improve coverage, efficiency, control effectiveness, and enterprise risk management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, information systems, cybersecurity, or a related area and 6 years of experience in cybersecurity risk or a related area at a technology, retail, or data-driven company; alternatively, 8 years of experience in cybersecurity risk or a related area at a technology, retail, or data-driven company.
• Extensive expertise in cyber risk assessment, risk management techniques, and evolving security threats.
• Proficiency in security governance, compliance frameworks, and implementation of corporate risk policies.
• Strong knowledge of security control assessments and control design.
• Experience with security auditing methodologies and regulatory compliance, including SOX, PCI, and NIST standards.
• Ability to analyze threat intelligence and conduct root cause analysis to inform risk mitigation strategies.
• Skill in designing and integrating secure architecture and authentication systems.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and collaborate with technical and business stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Certification in Security+, GISF, GSEC, CISA, CISSP, CCSP, or CISM.
• Master's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, information systems, cybersecurity, or a related area.
• 4 years of experience leading information security or cybersecurity projects.
• Experience creating inclusive digital experiences and knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, digital accessibility best practices, and accessibility standards and guidelines.
