Operations Transformation Leader (Aerospace & Defense)

Location: Thousand Oaks, CA, United States. The position requires eligibility to obtain authorization under ITAR and/or EAR; non-US persons may not be eligible.

Base salary: $120,080–$165,110 per year.

What you will do

• Lead manufacturing transformation and operational improvement initiatives across product lines and manufacturing sites.
• Partner with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Program Management to improve capacity, manufacturing flow, delivery performance, inventory management, and operational execution.
• Advise on manufacturing methods, operation sequences, processes, tooling, and process requirements for parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies.
• Coordinate new product releases with design engineering and support manufacturing integration, production line expansions, and operational scaling.
• Estimate manufacturing costs, establish time standards, and maintain records and reporting systems for manufacturing operations.
• Plan and design industrial manufacturing processes, including machining, metal forming, plastics processing, welding, brazing, assembly, and material handling.

Requirements

• University degree, such as a bachelor's degree, or equivalent relevant work experience.
• Experience leading operational excellence, manufacturing transformation, or continuous improvement initiatives in Aerospace & Defense or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
• Experience supporting low-volume, high-mix manufacturing operations.
• Demonstrated success improving throughput, lead times, inventory performance, capacity utilization, and delivery execution.
• Experience leading manufacturing integration efforts, production line expansions, or operational scaling initiatives.
• Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Toyota Production System, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, Standard Work, A3 Problem Solving, Root Cause Analysis, and Theory of Constraints.
• Experience improving material flow, inventory management, production planning, and demand-driven manufacturing processes.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects, establish action plans, drive accountability, and deliver results through influence.
• Ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment while handling multiple competing tasks and demands; strong communication, organization, planning, time management, interpersonal, collaboration, ethical, and accountability skills; proficiency in Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
