Senior Specialist, Operations Project Manager (Defense Tech)

Location: Salt Lake City, Utah, US; onsite role. Security-clearance eligibility may require U.S. citizenship.

What you will do

• Oversee operations efforts related to contract execution and manage projects from initiation through completion within deadlines and budgets.
• Coordinate manufacturing, procurement, test, quality, engineering, finance, and program management activities for complex electronic systems.
• Develop resource-loaded Integrated Master Schedules with engineering milestones and perform lead-time and critical-path analysis on multi-level hardware builds.
• Assess cost and schedule risks, develop mitigations, and monitor financial, schedule, and technical performance.
• Identify and coordinate resources for rapid-response development efforts and work with Engineering on long-lead material procurement.
• Communicate with all organizational levels, including through formal presentations and public speaking.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree and at least 6 years of relevant experience; or a Graduate Degree and at least 4 years of related experience; or at least 10 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
• Ability to interpret engineering instructions and drawings.
• Understanding of current and emerging manufacturing processes and methods.
• Strong interpersonal, relationship-building, organizational, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to handle stressful, high-visibility environments with maturity, respect, confidence, and attention to detail.
• Ability to identify and implement creative solutions to complex problems and work effectively in a team environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Experience in manufacturing, production, or other highly schedule-based environments.
• Financial or data analysis and monitoring experience.
• Business or technical writing, public speaking, and formal presentation experience.
• Proficiency with Excel, including graphs and pivot tables.
• Experience with schedule management tools such as Microsoft Project.
• Experience with SAP or other ERP/MRP systems.
