Sr. Data Analyst, Compliance

Location: Remote; based in Canada, the US, or Brazil; fluent English required

What you will do

• Own transaction-monitoring logic and rule-setting across deposits and withdrawals in partnership with Compliance.
• Translate compliance requirements into production detection logic covering alert eligibility, thresholds, customer segmentation, date windows, and deduplication.
• Build and maintain Python and SQL pipelines for transaction preparation, feature engineering, detection workflows, dashboards, and downstream compliance integrations.
• Evaluate detection rules and analytical models for coverage, alert quality, threshold sensitivity, and proposed changes.
• Own testing, deployment, scheduling, monitoring, operational support, data-quality investigations, and pipeline-failure resolution.
• Run historical backfills with validation and traceability, and experiment with infrastructure for future ML and intelligence initiatives.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in data analysis, data science, and data management within fintech, crypto, financial services, or gambling, gained in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
• Experience working with compliance, fraud, funding, finance, and customer support teams; analyzing large datasets; engineering features; and applying statistical methods to business problems.
• Strong Python and SQL skills, including building and supporting production data or analytical systems.
• Hands-on experience with dbt or similar tooling for modeling and organizing high-fidelity data.
• Experience managing data pipelines and workflow orchestration, with software engineering practices including version control, automated testing, code review, and CI/CD.
• Solid statistical foundation.
• Proficiency with BI and data visualization tools such as Hex, Tableau, Power BI, or similar for executive-facing dashboards.
• Ability to investigate production issues independently and communicate technical findings and uncertainty to non-technical stakeholders.
• A degree in analytics, software engineering, statistics, economics, or another field emphasizing analytical rigor; based in Canada, the US, or Brazil; fluent in English; and alignment with hirify.global's stated values.

Nice to have

• ML exposure, including developing or productionising models, experiment tracking, and performance monitoring.
• Fraud detection, AML, anomaly detection, or other risk-application experience.
• Experience with Athena, Trino, Kafka, and Kubernetes alongside Airflow, dbt, and S3.
• Transaction pattern analysis, customer segmentation, and detection-threshold tuning.
• Experience evaluating detection with sparse or delayed investigation feedback.
• Explainability, auditability, and change control experience in regulated environments.
