Data Engineer (Microsoft Fabric)

Location: Hybrid in London, United Kingdom, with occasional travel to regional UK offices

What you will do

• Develop and support the Microsoft Fabric-based enterprise data platform alongside the existing Data Engineer and Data & Analytics Lead.
• Build reliable data pipelines, dimensional models, transformations, and integrations connecting source systems, Microsoft Fabric, and Power BI.
• Design and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, semantic models, and supporting data models.
• Set standards for Power BI architecture, development, governance, deployment, reuse, data quality, security, performance, documentation, and support.
• Lead and develop the data team, coordinate technical delivery, manage stakeholder priorities, and train selected technical colleagues.
• Track the Microsoft Fabric roadmap and recommend relevant features while supporting delivery and training across regional offices.

Requirements

• Strong commercial experience with Kimball dimensional modelling and dbt transformations.
• Experience using Git and Azure DevOps for source control, testing, and CI/CD.
• Strong SQL skills and experience working with complex data structures.
• Experience building and supporting enterprise data warehouses or similar analytical platforms.
• Experience developing reliable ETL or ELT processes using the Medallion architecture.
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric data engineering, including PySpark and dbt.
• Practical knowledge of data quality, testing, monitoring, and operational support.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, clear communication, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with technical colleagues, the Data & Analytics Lead, and business stakeholders.

• Experience with Materialised Lake Views.
• Experience with Apache Spark or Python.
