Senior Site Reliability Engineer (Sat-Wed, Night Shift)

Location: Remote within the United States; US citizenship and domestic US residence required. Schedule: four 10-hour days from Saturday night through Wednesday morning, approximately 10 PM to 9 AM U.S. Pacific Time. Participation in follow-the-sun on-call rotations is required.

What you will do

• Deploy, manage, and secure production SaaS environments in AWS and Azure.
• Improve platform reliability through observability, release automation, chaos engineering, and infrastructure as code.
• Automate common and repetitive operational tasks.
• Work with geographically dispersed, cross-departmental teams to troubleshoot difficult technical problems.
• Participate in 24x7 on-call rotations for incident response, issue triage, and problem resolution.
• Write documentation and training materials and train colleagues.

Requirements

• US citizenship and domestic US residence.
• BSc in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of relevant industry experience, or 2+ years with an achieved BSc in Computer Science or an equivalent degree.
• Proficiency with Python and experience with Java, Golang, or C#.
• Proficiency working programmatically with Bash or PowerShell.
• Familiarity with public cloud platforms, preferably AWS or Azure, and container orchestration technologies, preferably AWS EKS or Azure AKS.
• Experience troubleshooting Java and .NET applications, network and storage infrastructure, core Linux distributions including Debian, RHEL, SUSE, or Slackware, and Windows.
• Experience with one or more of SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, or similar technologies.
• Ability to configure and fine-tune HAProxy, Apache, Nginx, IIS, or similar, and configure New Relic, Datadog, Splunk, or similar monitoring tools.
• Experience with deployment pipeline tools such as Ansible, Jenkins, and/or GitHub Actions, plus proficiency developing and working with Infrastructure as Code.
• Desire to adopt and implement emerging technologies and best practices.
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills for global collaboration.

Nice to have

• Prior experience as a Site Reliability Engineer or DevOps Engineer.
• Certificates or demonstrated certificate-equivalent knowledge in cloud development and architecture, Kubernetes administration, Linux administration, or software engineering disciplines.
• Experience with SOC 2 Type 2, ISO 27001, FedRAMP, or IRAP compliance frameworks and GDPR or PIPEDA privacy regulations.
