Software Engineering Development (Mainframe Modernization)

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain high-volume business logic running on mainframes.
• Monitor architecture, prevent performance degradation, and identify code optimization opportunities.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and analyze complex system interactions supporting mission-critical applications.
• Extract business logic from legacy systems for migration or integration with cloud-based services.
• Refactor legacy code so modern cloud and mobile applications can interact with core mainframe data.

Requirements

• Experience working as a software engineer on complex software projects.
• Excellent coding skills and solid development experience with Java, Python, .NET, or similar technologies, plus debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated experience with software development methodologies and developing scalable, robust software.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, data mapping, XML/JSON, and REST-based web services.
• Knowledge of architecture design, including microservices architecture, containers such as Docker and Kubernetes, and messaging queues.
• Deep understanding of object-oriented programming and design patterns.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Certification in one or more hyperscalers: Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform; certifications may also be obtained through hirify.global.
• Experience with DevOps tools and modern engineering practices.
