Head of Risk Governance (AI)

Location: Gilching, Bayern, Germany; on-site with the option to work remotely one flexible day per week.

What you will do

• Build and implement a Group-wide Enterprise Risk Management framework covering early risk identification, escalation, and decision-relevant management reporting.
• Define the risk methodology, taxonomy, governance cycle, and common standards for Business Owners.
• Develop and enhance a pragmatic, risk-based Internal Control System focused on entity-level controls and selected controls over mission-critical processes.
• Coordinate management assessments, challenge control effectiveness, track remediation, and maintain clear responsibilities across the integrated GRC model.
• Develop a consolidated, forward-looking view of Group risk exposure using indicators, scenarios, and quantified impacts where appropriate.
• Embed risk insights into strategy, planning, budgeting, forecasting, and key business decisions.

Requirements

• Several years of relevant experience in Enterprise Risk Management, Internal Controls, or Risk Governance, ideally in an international, fast-growing organisation.
• Experience designing and implementing ERM and/or ICS frameworks and integrating them into planning, performance management, and related GRC processes.
• Pragmatic, hands-on approach with the ability to turn risk principles into lean processes and tangible results.
• Ability to use technology and AI to simplify GRC processes and improve insights, reporting, and decision-making.
• Ability to translate complex risk information into clear management insights and constructively challenge senior stakeholders.
• Initial leadership experience and ability to lead a small team while remaining involved in day-to-day work.
• Collaborative approach and credibility when working across GRC, Finance, Group Assurance, and operational functions.
• Excellent English communication skills, high integrity, sound judgement, and a drive to strengthen risk-aware decision-making.
