Officer, Enterprise Risk Management (Investment Management)

Location: Frankfurt, Germany; hybrid schedule with 4 days per week in the office and 1 day working remotely. The role includes travel across the region.

Base salary: EUR 60,000–130,000 per year, plus potential discretionary bonus, incentives, and benefits.

What you will do

• Advise and challenge WME senior management, the Board, and first-line management on risk policy, risk appetite, controls, monitoring, and mitigation strategies.
• Develop, implement, and review operational risk management frameworks, policies, systems, procedures, and risk reports.
• Oversee outsourcing and third-party management, including outsourced activities and risk topics in the annual WME regulatory audit.
• Support ICT security oversight and DORA compliance, coordinate projects and audits, and oversee WME branches from a risk perspective.
• Lead EU operational risk requirements and incident responses, and support operational resilience, third-party risk, governance, and risk assessment frameworks across EMEA.
• Act as a liaison with regulatory authorities and collaborate with senior stakeholders, governance committees, and global Enterprise Risk functions.

Requirements

• At least 6 years of operational risk management experience within the investment management industry, including developing and managing operational risk frameworks from a German regulatory perspective.
• Experience working within Germany and knowledge of local regulatory expectations for operational risk management.
• Experience identifying and mitigating global operational risks, including controls improvements, within the investment management industry.
• Strong understanding of WpIG, WpI MaRisk, DORA, outsourcing, third-party risk management, and operational resilience requirements.
• Experience developing and implementing key components of a risk management framework and advising on controls design and risk monitoring in a client-focused operational platform.
• Ability to lead regional activities autonomously while collaborating globally and balance strategic and tactical priorities at firm-wide and regional levels.
• Strong collaboration, advisory, and stakeholder management skills, including engagement with regulators, senior management, and governance committees.
• Experience leading diverse working groups and project teams and implementing or supporting governance, risk, and compliance tools.
• Fluency or advanced-level German and English, plus willingness to travel across the region.
