Senior Network Engineer (Cisco/Fortinet)

Location: Riga, Latvia; hybrid schedule with 3 days on site and 2 days working from home. Domestic and international travel up to 15% is required.

Salary: EUR 3,350–4,800 gross per month, plus a monthly allowance and yearly bonus.

What you will do

• Maintain availability, performance, reliability, and operational readiness across enterprise and manufacturing network infrastructure.
• Monitor and troubleshoot LAN, WAN, wireless, remote access, perimeter, voice, routing, switching, firewall, and security services.
• Lead hands-on network upgrades, technology refreshes, site deployments, cutovers, migrations, and post-deployment stabilization.
• Support modernization initiatives involving SD-WAN, network segmentation, wireless refreshes, and cloud connectivity.
• Manage complex incidents, root cause analysis, corrective actions, change activities, documentation, and disaster recovery support.
• Coordinate managed service providers, technology vendors, regional IT teams, and local site resources while providing technical leadership and mentorship.

Requirements

• 7+ years of enterprise network engineering and operations experience.
• Hands-on expertise in routing and switching, wireless networking, TCP/IP, VPN and remote access technologies, firewalls, and network security controls.
• Experience supporting global or multi-site enterprise environments and managed service provider-supported operating models.
• Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.
• Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Experience with Cisco networking technologies, Fortinet firewall platforms, SD-WAN technologies, Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services cloud networking, industrial and manufacturing environments, operational technology network segmentation and secure connectivity, and Microsoft Teams Phone or unified communications platforms.
• Ability to support off-hours maintenance windows, cutovers, and critical incident response when required.

Nice to have

• CCNP, Fortinet, or equivalent industry certification.
• Experience with ServiceNow or similar IT service management platforms.
• Network automation and scripting with Python, Ansible, or PowerShell.
• Familiarity with NIST, ISO 27001, or other security frameworks.
• Experience supporting global organizations and diverse regional environments.
