Senior Software Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Ideally hybrid at the Mexico City office; remote work is possible.

What you will do

• Design and implement new features for business-critical money movement services supporting debit, RTP, real-time and scheduled transfers.
• Own service health through on-call participation, incident response, resolution, and blameless postmortems.
• Use AI tools for design, coding, testing, debugging, and incident response while maintaining accountability for quality and safety.
• Build monitoring, alerting, dashboards, and runbooks to improve reliability and observability.
• Design robust microservice integrations using REST/gRPC APIs and event or queue-based messaging; debug issues across the service infrastructure and stack.
• Develop test automation, collaborate cross-functionally, and mentor engineers through code, design, architecture, and operational-readiness reviews.

Requirements

• Proven experience supporting live production services, participating in on-call rotations, and responding to incidents under pressure.
• 4+ years of delivering software in a collaborative environment.
• Experience with microservice architectures.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog, including improving alerting, recovery time, or repeat-incident rates.
• Hands-on experience using AI coding and productivity tools, with sound judgment about when to verify their output.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language and ability to understand more than one; the current environment uses C#.
• Hands-on experience with SQL databases, continuous integration and delivery tools, and functional and integration testing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including clear communication during incidents; ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Experience with financial systems, payments, or ledgers is a plus for correctness and auditability.
