Lead Engineer, Systems (Aerospace)

Location: On-site at the Centennial, Colorado facility; U.S. citizenship is required because the role requires obtaining and maintaining a U.S. government-issued security clearance.

Salary: $180,000–$202,500 base salary per year.

What you will do

• Lead gas turbine engine and component assembly operations in accordance with engineering requirements, process standards, regulatory criteria, and quality systems.
• Establish process rigor, traceability, work instructions, SOPs, process documentation, and configuration control for assembly operations.
• Lead root cause investigations into assembly nonconformances and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Drive continuous improvement across safety, quality, delivery, cost effectiveness, assembly, and test operations.
• Provide engineering oversight for production testing, including troubleshooting, data review, test readiness, and technical assessments.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, test teams, suppliers, customers, and inspectors; mentor manufacturing engineers, technicians, and specialists.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college.
• 8 years of related engineering experience with a bachelor’s degree, 6 years with a master’s degree, 3 years with a PhD, or equivalent work experience.
• Significant experience in gas turbine, aerospace, or complex mechanical assembly operations, with a strong focus on manufacturing, production, or test environments.
• Understanding of gas turbine engines, turbomachinery design, and aerospace propulsion systems.
• Ability to lead complex technical problem solving and drive engineering decisions.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to influence cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting technical information.
• Strong understanding of engineering documentation, requirements management, and configuration control practices.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with aviation gas turbine product development and certification programs.
• Experience in process engineering, process improvement, and root cause analysis using Six Sigma, Lean, 8D, or equivalent methodologies.
• Experience supporting expendable engine systems or defense applications.
• Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Experience advancing disruptive design and manufacturing technologies.
