Forward Deployed Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote in Australia, with 40% of time spent on customer sites in Perth.

Salary: A$200K–A$250K plus equity.

hirify.global is building Archie, an AI engineer agent for the physical world that supports mechanical and electrical engineering workflows.

What you will do

• Lead customer discovery sessions, translate engineering challenges into AI use cases, and design Archie integrations throughout the product lifecycle.
• Build, implement, and refine integrations with customer engineering data sources and tools.
• Take end-to-end AI solutions into production and provide post-deployment customer support.
• Identify, collect, and prepare customer data for model fine-tuning and evaluate improved engineering capabilities.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts and AI specialists to develop systems that execute critical engineering tasks.
• Lead root-cause analysis and implement durable improvements for critical issues in live deployments.

Requirements

• Experience shipping data-driven or AI systems to production; Python experience is strongly preferred.
• Background in physical engineering, such as automotive, aerospace, electrical, or mechanical engineering.
• Ability to rapidly build integrations between disparate customer systems.
• Comfort working directly with customers and technical leaders.
• Experience integrating or extending AI systems.
• Experience delivering solutions in secure enterprise environments.
• Experience handling live production troubleshooting and customer incident response.
• Ability to work remotely from Australia and spend 40% of time on customer site in Perth.

Hiring process

• Introductory call lasting 30 minutes.
• Biographical and behavioural interview lasting 45 minutes.
• Technical interview lasting 60 minutes, followed by a 30-minute CEO interview.
