Senior Gameplay Designer (Cyberpunk)

Location: Onsite in Boston, Massachusetts, or fully remote from the United States or Canada. US remote work is limited to candidates residing in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Idaho, Illinois, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Washington, Wisconsin. Relocation assistance is available for US-based candidates.

Estimated pay range: $112,200–$185,100 annually.

CD Projekt RED creates story-driven role-playing games, and this role supports Cyberpunk 2, the follow-up to Cyberpunk 2077.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and iterate on gameplay features, mechanics, and core gameplay systems aligned with the game's design vision.
• Propose innovative gameplay designs and contribute to the overall game direction.
• Analyze, pitch, prototype, develop, and balance moment-to-moment gameplay, abilities, and mechanics.
• Collaborate across disciplines and refine designs using internal and external feedback.
• Stay current with game genres, design methods and techniques, and audio-visual trends.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in the AAA game industry in a game design role.
• Proven success creating compelling and innovative gameplay mechanics.
• Experience developing shooters, open-world, role-playing, and/or action games.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and evolving project needs, willingness to experiment, and commitment to high-quality work.
• Positive and collaborative approach that contributes to a friendly and supportive team environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with Unreal Engine 4 and/or 5.
• Experience working across multiple stages of AAA game production.
• Deep knowledge of CD Projekt RED games and other narrative or role-playing-focused games.
• Passion for the cyberpunk genre and games.
