Senior Quest Designer

Location: Boston, United States; in-office in a hybrid or full-time capacity.

Estimated annual pay range: $118,000–$196,000 USD.

What you will do

• Create detailed storylines and believable worlds for Cyberpunk 2.
• Design quests, NPC communities, and open-world events with a focus on narrative-driven emotional design.
• Implement content through visual scripting using a proprietary toolset within UE5.
• Plan required assets and integrate gameplay elements, locations, characters, dialogue, and other content into cohesive experiences.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary departments, participate in content reviews, and iterate on designs based on feedback.
• Maintain design documentation and a high quality bar through review, iteration, and bug fixing.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Quest, Narrative, or Open World Designer on AAA projects.
• At least one shipped narrative-driven AAA game.
• Excellent understanding of interactive storytelling and in-depth knowledge of game development and game design.
• Proficiency with game engines, visual scripting, and UE5.
• Well-developed communication and organization skills, with the ability to give, receive, and act on feedback.
• Ability to thrive in multinational, interdisciplinary teams.
• Ability to mentor and train team members.
• Strong critical and analytical thinking.
• Portfolio or examples of projects are required; applications without a portfolio will not be considered.
• The role is focused on design and implementation and does not include writing responsibilities.
