Senior Mission Integration Engineer (National Security)

Location: Redondo Beach, United States; onsite. Occasional travel to hardware integration events, test campaigns, or launch operations may be required, less than 20%.

Salary: $140,000–$180,000 per year.

What you will do

• Execute the technical integration of customer payloads and mission requirements onto spacecraft, bridging customer technical teams and internal engineering disciplines.
• Own and maintain technical baseline documentation, Interface Control Documents, and compliance matrices.
• Coordinate across multidisciplinary technical areas, Responsible Engineers, and Mission Managers to resolve integration issues and evaluate spacecraft capabilities against customer requirements.
• Identify technical risks early and develop engineering trade-offs and mitigations.
• Support mission verification, environmental test reviews, and launch-site integration activities.
• Maintain traceability through action-item tracking, meeting records, and analysis, test, and inspection data in shared repositories.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in systems engineering, mission integration, or complex technical project execution.
• Strong understanding of core aerospace subsystem interfaces and experience tracking contract requirements against technical deliverables.
• Experience maintaining technical documentation, Interface Control Documents, or verification matrices.
• Applicants must be U.S. Persons or eligible to obtain an export license under applicable U.S. export regulations, including ITAR and EAR.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in an engineering discipline.
• Active security clearance or willingness to obtain one.
• Experience serving as a technical point of contact for external partners or customers in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with civil space or national security processes and systems.
• Strong organizational skills with experience documenting technical processes, interface definitions, and verification logic.
