Research Scientist (AI)

Location: San Francisco, CA, USA; on-site.

Salary: USD 180,000–250,000 per year plus equity.

hirify.global is building an AI-human translation layer and multimodal foundation models focused on understanding human experience, cognition, emotional wellness, and interpersonal relationships.

What you will do

• Train and fine-tune deep learning models using PyTorch or JAX to transform raw signals into interpretable behavioral constructs.
• Perform advanced time-series analysis to identify latent state changes, clusters, and transitions for research and product applications.
• Architect cloud-based data processing pipelines capable of handling petabytes of data.
• Define ground truth, evaluation metrics, rigorous benchmarks, and validation datasets.
• Implement active learning loops and clean, wrangle, and interpret noisy, high-variability real-world data.
• Deploy models and influence data collection strategy across the full data lifecycle.

Requirements

• Top-tier publications in NeurIPS, ICLR, CVPR, or ICML, or high-impact journals such as Nature or Science.
• Deep experience in time-series analysis plus expertise in at least two of computer vision, NLP, audio or speech processing, and biosignal or neural time series.
• Proficiency in PyTorch or JAX, including implementing papers from scratch and modifying architectures for custom needs.
• Strong expertise in Python.
• Experience architecting data processing pipelines and deploying models in the cloud.
• Adaptability and enthusiasm for developing creative solutions to unsolved problems.
• Commitment to positively impacting human well-being.
• Ability to thrive in a high-bandwidth, collaborative environment.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with neuroadaptive systems, biofeedback, or closed-loop stimulation paradigms.
• Exposure to large-scale foundation models.
• Experience with a product where analysis directly informed strategy or UX.
• Interest in neurotechnology, mental health, or human-AI interaction.
