Software Engineer (AI/ML)

Location: Hybrid in Lexington, Massachusetts, United States; onsite 3 days per week. Candidates are expected to be local when the assignment starts. Must be a US citizen and able to obtain an active Secret Clearance; an interim clearance is sufficient to start.

What you will do

• Develop AI- and machine-learning-enabled applications for national security research.
• Build custom Android smartphone applications and enhance Windows-based C++ software.
• Develop, integrate, and test novel medical technologies, sensors, and prototype hardware.
• Design software architectures for new research efforts and translate ideas into functional prototypes.
• Work across the software stack, learn new technologies quickly, and solve open-ended technical problems in a multidisciplinary R&D environment.

Requirements

• Must be a US citizen and able to obtain an active Secret Clearance; an interim clearance is sufficient to start.
• 5 years of Android development and 5 years of Windows application development using C++.
• 5 years of on-device ML/LLM deployment and 2 years of experience building on-device native binaries for ML/LLM deployments.
• 3 years of implementing machine-learning models and knowledge of ML training.
• 2 years of experience with mobile user analytics, mobile user-interface design principles, JSON and XML data formats, microcontrollers such as Arduino or Raspberry Pi, and cloud computing, including AWS.
