Senior Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Cairo office, hybrid

What you will do

• Own selected domains end to end, including technical direction, project leadership, service health, latency, error rates, on-call responsibility, and technical debt.
• Lead cross-squad projects by breaking down ambiguous product requirements, sequencing work, coordinating engineers, removing blockers, and shipping outcomes.
• Design scalable systems that degrade gracefully through idempotency, retries, fallbacks, and containment of third-party failures.
• Work with product, design, data, operations, CX, finance, and compliance teams to shape products and support account opening, user issues, and regulatory requirements.
• Improve observability, operational discipline, code quality, independently shippable changes, and measurable SLOs for critical flows.
• Help expand the domains into new markets beyond Egypt, the UAE, and the US.

Requirements

• Experience with distributed systems and understanding of scalability, slow dependencies, backed-up queues, and deployments during live operation.
• Product-minded, impact-driven approach focused on user outcomes and large-scale customer experiences.
• Project management and leadership skills, including scoping, sequencing, status communication, and guiding other engineers.
• Confidence owning systems end to end from design through production and on-call, including incident containment, root-cause analysis, user unblocking, and lasting fixes.
• Familiarity with Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, RabbitMQ, Redis, and Kubernetes, or the confidence to learn the stack quickly.
• Strong communication across engineering, product, operations, CX, and compliance teams.

Nice to have

• Fintech experience or awareness of domain-critical flows involving money, identity, and regulation.
