Backend Software Engineer (Node.js)

Location: Remote in Egypt or Uzbekistan; Sunday to Thursday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM KSA time

hirify.global is building an e-commerce marketplace for buying and selling used electronics, cars, and collectibles across the MENA market.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems using Node.js, TypeScript, and Nest.js.
• Build and manage microservices architecture focused on performance and reliability.
• Develop APIs and manage inter-service communication with gRPC.
• Model, store, and optimize data using MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and ClickHouse.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver backend solutions.
• Maintain code quality through testing, code reviews, best practices, troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimization.

Requirements

• 4–5+ years of hands-on experience in backend software development.
• Proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript, with experience using Nest.js.
• Experience building scalable microservices and using communication protocols such as gRPC.
• Production experience with MongoDB and PostgreSQL, plus knowledge of ClickHouse for data modeling, storage, and optimization.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and deployment strategies.
• Familiarity with AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Knowledge of distributed systems and event-driven architectures.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Docker.
• Exposure to Golang for building performant backend components.
• Experience scaling and optimizing backend systems for high-traffic applications.
