EN/FR Translator-Proofreader - Linguistic Services (Insurance)

Location: Hybrid work program with presence at the Montreal office, Canada.

What you will do

• Translate and revise insurance-related press releases, corporate publications, marketing materials, internal and external communications, procedures, and employee training documentation between en_CA and fr_CA.
• Maintain bilingual terminology databases, glossaries, lexicons, and the translation memory in SDL Trados.
• Perform linguistic revision, proofreading, and post-layout reviews to ensure accurate, clear, consistent, and high-quality content.
• Provide linguistic and terminology guidance, conduct research, and seek validation from subject matter experts when required.
• Coordinate linguistic requests with internal stakeholders, colleagues, and external translation agencies, including scope, reference materials, formats, deadlines, workload, and timelines.
• Monitor project progress and manage linguistic and terminology quality assurance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Translation.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in translation and revision, including specialized or technical content.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in both French and English. English is used with colleagues and clients outside Quebec.
• Strong proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, SDL Trados, and other computer-assisted translation tools.
• In-depth knowledge of financial services and insurance industries.
• Experience coordinating linguistic requests or projects, managing multiple files simultaneously, anticipating dependencies, and handling urgent priorities.
• Strong attention to detail, autonomy, accountability, discretion, confidentiality, versatility, and adaptability in a fast-paced, changing environment.
• Excellent communication with internal teams and external vendors, a collaborative mindset, and commitment to internal client service.

• Membership with the Ordre des traducteurs, terminologues et interprètes agréés du Québec (OTTIAQ).
