Translator-Reviser (English to French)

Location: 100% remote from Canada or hybrid with 2 days per week in the Ottawa office for candidates living in the National Capital Region. Remote work elsewhere in Canada must be within easy commuting distance of a major centre or travel hub.

Salary: CAD 80,886–105,152 per year.

What you will do

• Translate and revise technical and creative texts related to DCC activities, including contracting, project and program management, environmental services, real property management, HR, IT, communications, governance, and legal affairs.
• Perform translation quality control for concordance, accuracy, clarity, and related standards.
• Support the development and maintenance of a comprehensive terminology management database.
• Support the development and implementation of innovative translation processes and stay current with DCC-related terminology.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with internal clients, external suppliers, and professional networks.

Requirements

• University degree in translation, terminology, linguistics, or a related field.
• At least four years of experience in translation, editing, and using translation software, preferably in an agency or internal translation-service environment.
• Professional working knowledge of translation software and terminology management databases.
• Professional working knowledge of professional writing rules and practices, as well as current translation trends and best practices.
• Mandatory bilingualism in English and French.
• Organizational, research, interpersonal, and project-management skills, with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to manage competing demands and deadlines.
• Eligibility to work in Canada as a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
• Minimum Reliability security clearance, including required background, criminal-record, reference, employment, open-source, and credit or financial checks.
• Compliance with DCC's Code of Business Conduct is a condition of employment.
