Senior Data Scientist (AI)

Location: Paolo hirify.global R&D Campus, Parma, Italy, with a flexible hybrid working model.

Salary: €46,000–€57,500 per year, plus eligibility for an annual performance-based bonus.

What you will do

• Design, develop, validate, and deploy advanced analytics, machine learning, AI, and Generative AI solutions for Clinical Development and Clinical Operations.
• Apply statistical modelling and predictive analytics to clinical trial, real-world, healthcare, and digital health data.
• Generate actionable insights for evidence-based decision-making, clinical trial optimization, operational efficiency, and patient-centric research.
• Develop use cases including synthetic control arms, virtual patient cohorts, trial performance monitoring, risk identification, study forecasting, and digital biomarkers.
• Collaborate with Global Clinical Development and Digital teams and communicate analytical findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, platforms, data sources, and partnerships while contributing to scientific publications, conferences, and innovation initiatives.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of machine learning, artificial intelligence, predictive analytics, and statistical modelling.
• Proficiency in Python or R and experience with pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, and PyTorch.
• Experience developing and deploying machine learning models in production environments.
• Knowledge of Generative AI, Large Language Models, Retrieval-Augmented Generation, and emerging AI frameworks.
• Experience with healthcare, clinical, real-world, and clinical trial data sources.
• Demonstrated experience in Clinical Development, Clinical Research, Real World Evidence, or related healthcare research environments, including understanding of the clinical trial lifecycle.
• Experience applying advanced analytics, AI, or machine learning to clinical or healthcare datasets.
• Master’s degree or PhD in Data Science, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
• Experience as a Data Scientist or equivalent role in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, CRO, healthcare technology, or life sciences sectors, with the ability to translate complex scientific and operational challenges into analytical solutions.
• Strong data visualization, communication, storytelling, software development, version control, and reproducible analytical workflow skills.

• Experience collaborating with academic institutions, technology providers, CROs, healthcare organizations, or industry consortia.
