Sr. Software Engineer - Mac Sensor (Remote)

Location: USA - Remote, CA; hybrid work requiring 2–3 days per week on-site at one of the posted locations. Candidates must be eligible for CJIS clearance, requiring U.S. citizenship or Green Card/permanent resident status.

Base salary: $140,000–$215,000 per year, plus potential bonuses, equity grants, health insurance, 401k, and paid time off.

Cybersecurity company developing the Falcon endpoint protection platform, including macOS sensors and cloud-based threat detection capabilities.

What you will do

• Design and develop software deployed on macOS systems.
• Own features from design through delivery for the macOS endpoint sensor.
• Build core platform features spanning file systems, memory, processes, networking, and shared Windows/Linux components.
• Collaborate with multifunctional teams across physical locations and contribute to major releases.
• Troubleshoot product issues reported by customers responsively.

Requirements

• Must be eligible for CJIS clearance through U.S. citizenship or Green Card/permanent resident status.
• Ability to develop high-quality production code in Swift, C/C++, Objective-C, and Python, demonstrated through professional experience, schoolwork, or community projects.
• Systems-level macOS experience with production code requiring strong multithreading, high reliability, extensibility, testability, maintainability, efficient performance, and correct conformance to external standards.
• Experience with Xcode, system-level macOS frameworks and libraries including GCD and XPC, and debugging background launchd processes.
• Experience working with low-level operating characteristics including security and memory usage.
• Experience working on a team to ship major features and releases.
• Ability to lead, communicate, collaborate, and work effectively in a distributed team.
• Proven experience using AI technologies to improve decision-making, workflows, efficiency, and business outcomes.

Nice to have

• Experience with endpoint products, cybersecurity, or networking technologies such as firewalls, network security, or network protocols.
• Deep knowledge of the Network Extension framework and/or Endpoint Security library.
• Experience developing shared cross-platform C++ code.
