Data Engineering & DevOps Lead (GCP)

Location: Warsaw Downtown Office, Poland. Hybrid work model with the option to work from home two days a week and regular office engagement.

What you will do

• Partner with Data Asset Managers and Solution/Enterprise Architects to define a resilient, future-proof long-term platform architecture and technical roadmap.
• Architect and optimize high-throughput batch and streaming data pipelines using the Google Cloud ecosystem, including data acquisition, cleansing, transformation, validation, and publishing.
• Own the DataOps and Infrastructure as Code strategy, provisioning reproducible, version-controlled, and modular cloud environments.
• Build, maintain, and standardize automated CI/CD pipelines with automated testing, data contract validation, and zero-downtime deployment practices.
• Implement SRE-style monitoring, logging, alerting, security controls, and data governance while optimizing GCP cloud spend and resource allocation.
• Lead, mentor, and upskill engineering teams in data engineering, DevOps, code reviews, architectural documentation, and production readiness.

Requirements

• Proven senior experience in data engineering and/or management.
• Experience with Azure and/or Google Cloud Platform.
• Demonstrated knowledge of SQL, Python, PySpark, and coding standards.
• Client management and communication skills.
• Hands-on experience writing clean, effective code.

Nice to have

• Experience with Databricks and Power BI.
• DAMA certification.
• Knowledge of Scrum and DevOps methodologies.
• Experience using or building CI/CD tools.
