Assistant Manager, Accounting & Controls (FMCG)

Location: Mandaluyong City, Philippines; hybrid schedule with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home.

What you will do

• Manage monthly financial close activities for the Philippines in the Sun Financial System, including reconciliations, accruals, journal entries, intercompany transactions, and IFRS and US GAAP reporting.
• Administer the Sun Financial System, including configuration, maintenance, user support, record accuracy, and issue resolution.
• Manage statutory audits and coordinate with external auditors, the corporate tax team, and external advisors.
• Oversee routine income tax, VAT, and other local tax filings; maintain tax compliance processes and prepare tax reporting packages.
• Support the SEA Financial Controller with internal controls, SOX requirements, compliance programs, policy reviews, control-gap remediation, and strategic finance projects.
• Manage credit, accounts receivable, collections, local payroll and employee-benefits support, and staff coaching and development.

Requirements

• Minimum 6 years of finance and/or accounting experience, including at least 2 years as an Accounting Supervisor, Assistant Manager, or Manager.
• Experience with SOX and internal-control implementation.
• Experience in corporate tax, VAT, and tax-related compliance matters.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA qualification or international equivalent.
• Strong planning, organising, communication, presentation, and influencing skills.
• Ability to simplify complex concepts and problems into actionable tasks for cross-functional stakeholders.
• Excellent collaboration skills and ability to build internal relationships at all organisational levels.
• Self-starter with personal initiative and creative problem-solving skills.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Copilot, and other automation tools.

• Big Four audit firm experience.
• Global multinational FMCG experience.
• Experience in multinational businesses and cross-border intercompany transactions.
• Knowledge of Sun System, Concur, and SAP S/4.
