What you will do
- Lead data scientists and data engineers building robust, scalable, high-performance data pipelines and infrastructure.
- Analyze existing models and algorithms and research new approaches to price optimization.
- Design, build, and maintain distributed batch and streaming data-processing workflows.
- Drive data quality, validation, testing, and observability practices.
- Own and evolve the data architecture in alignment with business and product goals, contributing hands-on to development and architecture decisions.
- Manage sprint planning, task breakdown, code reviews, performance feedback, recruitment, mentorship, and team growth.
Requirements
- 3+ years of proven experience leading and managing data science or data engineering teams, with people management required.
- 4+ years of data science experience, including strong Python programming, advanced SQL, and data modeling.
- Proven experience designing and maintaining large-scale data platforms.
- Expertise with data orchestration tools such as Airflow, Prefect, or Dagster.
- Cloud platform experience; GCP is preferred, with AWS or Azure acceptable.
- Strong communication, mentorship, and collaboration skills.
- BSc or MSc in Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, or Computer Science.
- Fluent English, spoken and written.
Nice to have
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform tools including BigQuery, Dataflow, or Pub/Sub.
- Background working with ML pipelines or data science teams.
- Understanding of data contracts, lineage, and versioning tools.
- Knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
- Familiarity with Docker.
- Experience optimizing pipelines and databases for performance and cost.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines using GitHub or GitLab.
- Hands-on experience with distributed data frameworks such as Apache Beam, Spark, or similar tools.
- Exposure to airline, pricing, or GDS systems.
