Senior Associate Scientist (Biotech)

Location: On premise in Chesterfield, St. Louis, Missouri, United States. Candidates must have permanent authorization to work in the United States; U.S. work visa sponsorship is not available.

Annual base salary: $68,600–$114,300, plus eligibility for a 7.5% bonus target.

What you will do

• Develop, troubleshoot, and use analytical methodologies supporting process development for biotherapeutics, vaccines, and oligonucleotides.
• Apply analytical methods to assess product quality, detect impurities, and characterize products.
• Develop proficiency in HPLC, colorimetric, and electrophoresis assays.
• Support method development, transfer, verification, and qualification in process and formulation development.
• Record, archive, report, and document analytical data in technical reports within corporate guidelines.
• Collaborate with peers and leaders in a multidisciplinary team while managing multiple activities in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or a related field with 3+ years of relevant experience; or a Master’s degree in one of these fields with 0–2 years of relevant experience.
• Laboratory experience with a variety of analytical laboratory techniques.
• Ability to follow established procedures under minimal supervision.
• Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, ability to multitask, and effective interpersonal and communication skills.
• Permanent authorization to work in the United States and no requirement for U.S. work visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience with Quality Systems and Good Documentation Practices.
• Knowledge of the drug development process for biological candidates.
• Experience using common AI tools, including generative technologies such as ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot, for problem solving and productivity.
• Curiosity about applying AI tools and understanding responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use.
• Excellent documentation, oral, and written communication skills.
• Self-motivated approach and effectiveness in a team-based environment.
• Experience analyzing large molecules.
• Experience with laboratory data systems such as Laboratory Information Management Systems.
