Principal Program Manager, Engineering Operations

Location: Westminster, Colorado, United States; U.S. Person status required, defined as U.S. citizen, permanent resident, Asylee, or Refugee.

Salary: $135,000–$180,000–$198,000 annually for Colorado; incentive eligible.

What you will do

• Own the common engineering lifecycle model across planning, design, delivery, and evidence of completion.
• Define engineering standards, lifecycle reviews, decision authorities, escalation paths, governance expectations, and accountability.
• Establish systems-of-record expectations, required metadata, artifact relationships, and traceability standards.
• Create practical playbooks, templates, and guardrails, partnering with domain architects, engineering leaders, Developer Enablement, and platform teams.
• Drive adoption, measure effectiveness, identify friction and unnecessary process, and evolve standards using execution data and feedback.
• Build an operating model that supports reliable decision-making, scalable automation, and agentic engineering workflows.

Requirements

• Deep experience in engineering leadership, systems engineering, technical program leadership, engineering operations, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated ability to design and improve engineering processes across large, complex organizations.
• Strong understanding of engineering lifecycle models, technical governance, reviews, risk management, and traceability.
• Ability to distinguish where standardization creates leverage from where local autonomy is more effective.
• Strong technical credibility across software, systems, infrastructure, or multidisciplinary engineering environments.
• Experience influencing senior engineering leaders without direct authority.
• Strong systems thinking, judgment, and ability to simplify complex operating models.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• U.S. Person status is required. Certain roles may also be subject to U.S. export control laws and ITAR requirements.
