Large Scale mAbs Automation Lead (Pharmaceutical Manufacturing)

Location: Swiftwater, Pennsylvania, United States. Onsite role; US and Puerto Rico residents only.

Salary: $148,500–$214,500 annually.

What you will do

• Lead the automation workstream through the design, construction, qualification, and commercial readiness of a new large-scale monoclonal antibody facility.
• Define manufacturing systems strategies, automation solutions, technical standards, project plans, vendor selections, and system integration architectures.
• Integrate process equipment vendor packages with centralized DCS and MES, digital applications, production systems, quality control, and data management.
• Lead code reviews, FATs, SATs, automation validation, deviation resolution, change controls, and integration with the existing brownfield site.
• Deploy the Next Generation IIoT Platform and Factory of the Future architecture, including standardized data models and connected manufacturing systems.
• Embed OT/ICS cybersecurity, network segmentation, secure remote access, data integrity, traceability, resilience, patching, backup, disaster recovery, and audit-trail controls.

Requirements

• 8+ years of automation engineering experience within the pharmaceutical industry preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Automation, Computer Science, Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or another field.
• Proven experience managing complex manufacturing systems involving automation, robotics, and advanced technologies.
• Thorough knowledge of cGMP and regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency with DeltaV, Ignition, Rockwell PLCs, data historians, Building Management Systems, Manufacturing Execution Systems, and other automation technologies.
• Systems engineering mindset with the ability to design and implement robust system integration architectures.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, leadership, collaboration, decision-making, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to influence internal and external partners and build high-performing teams in complex, high-speed environments.
• Intercultural experience and experience working with cross-functional teams.

Nice to have

• 3+ years in a leadership or project lead role.
• Experience in multi-site operations, global projects, and matrix management.
