What you will do

• Design, engineer, document, and operate enterprise-grade virtualised x86 infrastructure and secure private cloud environments based on SDN principles.
• Shape network architecture through micro-segmentation, logical switching and routing, distributed firewalls, overlay networks, and intent-based policies.
• Own high availability, performance optimisation, fault remediation, incident management, monitoring, and L2/L3 support for virtualisation and network service platforms.
• Lead global rollouts, data centre migrations, technology refreshes, lifecycle upgrades, and optimisation of virtualised infrastructure.
• Drive infrastructure automation, API-first configuration, declarative policies, GitOps workflows, and Infrastructure-as-Code across hybrid environments.
• Participate in a 7x24 on-call rotation, approximately one week per month, and act as the escalation point for critical infrastructure incidents.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related technical discipline; equivalent practical experience is considered.
• At least five years of hands-on experience as a senior virtualisation engineer designing, delivering, and operating enterprise-grade x86 infrastructure in mission-critical environments.
• Expertise in VMware vSphere, including ESXi, vCenter Server, and virtualised platform lifecycle management.
• In-depth knowledge of SDN, including logical switching and routing, VXLAN/Geneve overlay networks, distributed firewalling, and centralised policy enforcement.
• Strong data centre networking foundation covering IPv4/IPv6, BGP, Tier-0/Tier-1 service gateways, transport nodes, and integration between logical and physical network layers.
• Experience deploying and managing SDDC frameworks, preferably VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF).
• Hands-on experience with PowerShell, Python, and Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform or Ansible, including API-driven integrations with NSX Manager and AVI Controller.
• Working knowledge of SAN/NAS, Fibre Channel, and NFS/CIFS file-based protocols.
• Exposure to Tanzu Kubernetes Grid (TKG/IE) or VKS and integration of Kubernetes clusters with SDN-backed networking and security policies.
• Willingness to participate in a 7x24 on-call rotation and lead resolution of critical infrastructure incidents.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to own complex technical initiatives with limited supervision.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate in an agile, international environment.
• Fluent written and spoken English is required.

Nice to have

• Direct experience with VMware NSX-T, including micro-segmentation, distributed security policies, Edge services, and API automation.
• Familiarity with VMware AVI (NSX Advanced Load Balancer), application delivery, traffic steering, L7 load balancing, WAF integration, and Kubernetes ingress control.
• Additional languages are beneficial given the regional presence.
