Product Security Engineer 3 (Healthcare)

Location: USA. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Most roles offer flexibility to work from home or in the office unless stated otherwise.

Salary: $157,250.00–$198,875.00 per year, subject to location, experience, and education.

What you will do

• Architect and build security tooling and internal products using Terraform, Bash, Go, or Python.
• Use gRPC, GraphQL, and HTTP to build automation that reduces manual security work and developer friction.
• Partner with product engineers to design secure features and address high-risk workflows across products, infrastructure, and integrations.
• Review Infrastructure-as-Code and IAM roles, providing code-ready improvements that help developers deploy securely.
• Advise teams on vulnerabilities, balancing security risks with business goals and helping scope pragmatic fixes.

Requirements

• Substantial software development experience and the ability to write production-ready code; Python and Go are used, but other technical backgrounds are welcome.
• Ability to assess security risks against business goals and communicate trade-offs effectively to non-security stakeholders.
• Proactive approach to identifying vulnerability patterns and building systemic fixes or libraries that prevent classes of bugs.
• Deep familiarity with AWS infrastructure best practices, IAM, and containerization.
• Collaborative approach to enabling software developers and teaching secure practices.
• Active use of AI tools for team support, security research and analysis, and responsible AI practices.
• Current authorization to work full-time in the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience creating developer-focused security libraries or CLI tools.
• Familiarity with HIPAA, PCI, or securing fintech and payment data.
• Participation in CTFs, bug bounties, or open-source security contributions.
