Business Engineer (AI)

What you will do

• Turn growth-team operational problems into small, useful releases across backend services and React interfaces.
• Design database schemas, improve query performance, and perform safe migrations on live PostgreSQL databases.
• Build third-party integrations with API quotas, rate limits, retries, webhooks, and reliable payment and messaging workflows.
• Ship LLM features and measure quality, latency, and cost per result.
• Own environments, releases, monitoring, security, access control, and shared on-call support.
• Define success metrics, track adoption after launch, and improve shipped features.

Requirements

• Production experience building and operating backend systems, including the ability to explain technical decisions, personal contributions, and results.
• Strong Python and full-stack delivery skills, including backend services and React screens when required by a feature.
• Deep PostgreSQL knowledge: data modeling, query plans, indexes, transactions, locking, and live-database migrations.
• API security expertise: authentication, object-level authorization, role isolation, IDOR prevention on reads and writes, and access testing as different users.
• Hands-on operations experience with Linux, containers, CI/CD, monitoring, and production debugging from logs.
• Ability to identify worthwhile problems, remove blockers, and follow through independently.
• Ability to accept direct feedback, admit mistakes, and change decisions based on evidence.
• Ability to work at an intense pace with daily releases, shifting priorities, and urgent production issues outside regular hours when needed.
• Experience with Python and TypeScript; Python and Node.js services, REST APIs, background workers, scheduled jobs, React with server-side rendering, PostgreSQL, S3-compatible object storage, Linux, Docker, GitHub Actions CI/CD, LLM APIs, static typing, linters, and automated tests in both languages.

• Experience with influencer marketing, affiliate programs, or creator payouts.
• Experience handling large-scale YouTube data within API quotas.
• Email outreach and deliverability experience.
• LLM evaluations, prompt regression sets, and cost tracking experience.
