Senior Cloud Platform Engineer (Azure)

Location: Remote within the continental United States; full-time support required during core Eastern Time business hours, with possible support outside core hours for outages, updates, upgrades, and other needs.

Salary: $85,678.38–$200,993.63 per year.

What you will do

• Operate and optimize AKS, including upgrades, scaling, node pools, and troubleshooting.
• Build and manage modular infrastructure as code with Terraform and Terragrunt.
• Implement GitOps workflows using Argo CD and GitHub workflows.
• Deploy and maintain containerized workloads with Docker, Helm, and Kustomize.
• Manage Azure networking, identity, security, and data services, including VNets, Private Link, RBAC, Key Vault, PostgreSQL Flexible Server, Service Bus, Redis, AI Search, Storage, and ACR.
• Own platform reliability through monitoring, alerting, KQL dashboards, incident response, and performance tuning.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and the ability to maintain a High Risk Public Trust designation are required; minimum Public Trust clearance is required.
• Experience supporting the Federal Government and large, distributed systems is required.
• At least five years of hands-on experience in cloud platform engineering, SRE, or DevOps roles is required.
• A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required.
• Deep hands-on experience with Azure, AKS, and Kubernetes operations is required; AWS experience may be considered in lieu of Azure.
• Deep hands-on experience with Docker, Helm, Kustomize, Terraform, Terragrunt, and modular infrastructure as code is required.
• Strong GitOps experience with Argo CD and GitHub workflows is required.
• Strong experience with platform observability tools, including Azure Monitor and Log Analytics/KQL, is required.
• Self-motivation, self-sufficiency, minimal need for guidance, excellent communication skills, collaboration with diverse technical teams, and alignment with hirify.global's core values are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Azure Government, AWS GovCloud, C2S, or SC2S.
• Active Secret or Top Secret clearance.
• Azure, Kubernetes, IaC/DevOps, or AWS certifications, including the certifications listed in the posting.
• Familiarity with cloud cost optimization strategies.
