IT Infrastructure Engineer

Location: Onsite at the Alameda, California headquarters; occasional weekend and extended-hours work may be required, with approximately 5% travel.

Salary: $108,735–$127,923 per year.

What you will do

• Install, configure, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain cloud and on-premises networking, compute, server, endpoint, identity, and infrastructure resources.
• Design, standardize, implement, and manage hybrid infrastructure across offices, laboratories, manufacturing spaces, and datacenter environments.
• Build secure, reliable, automated, and scalable infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code and configuration management practices.
• Monitor systems and resolve routine and moderately complex network, systems, application, endpoint, identity, and cloud issues.
• Collaborate with security, engineering, manufacturing, facilities, business teams, vendors, and service providers to deliver infrastructure solutions.
• Maintain technical documentation, standards, diagrams, operating procedures, upgrades, migrations, incident response, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a similar field, or an equivalent combination of education, professional certifications, and applicable work experience.
• 4+ years of relevant experience in network engineering, systems engineering, infrastructure engineering, or a similar role in a medium-to-large-scale or similarly complex environment.
• Experience independently supporting and troubleshooting datacenter operations, physical and logical networking, and systems infrastructure.
• Hands-on experience with at least one cloud IaaS platform, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Practical experience with configuration management, automation, or Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
• Working knowledge of enterprise networking, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, firewalls, and network troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of cloud compute, networking, storage, identity, and hybrid cloud environments.
• Ability to independently implement, maintain, troubleshoot, and support infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments.
• Working knowledge of Windows, macOS, Linux, server and endpoint technologies, mobile device management, single sign-on, endpoint management, and modern information security practices.
• Ability to analyze technical problems, evaluate alternatives, document solutions, communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders, collaborate cross-functionally, and adapt to changing requirements.
• Ability to work in office, noisy, prototyping/test, and manufacturing/industrial environments; read hazardous warning signs, report unsafe conditions, and wear required PPE.

Nice to have

• Experience in a highly regulated or government environment.
• Experience in an engineering or industrial/manufacturing company.
• Experience in a high-growth or rapidly scaling environment.
• Relevant certification such as CCNA/CCNP, AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, Terraform, RHCSA/RHCE, Security+, or comparable certification.
