Cyber Security Consultant (UK)

Location: Remote or hybrid in the United Kingdom, with regular visits to client sites; hybrid work is available from offices in Oxford or Glasgow. Candidates must be UK based, have the right to work in the UK without sponsorship, and be willing to complete BPSS screening and potentially SC-level or higher security clearance.

Salary: £40,000–£65,000 per year.

What you will do

• Conduct penetration tests across web applications, APIs, cloud environments, and network infrastructure.
• Produce detailed reports covering findings, risks, and remediation recommendations.
• Translate complex technical findings into actionable insights for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Stay current with security trends, tools, and techniques, and participate in research and development projects.
• Attend occasional on-call duties and on-site client engagements.
• Develop skills through industry-recognized certification programs.

Requirements

• At least two years of penetration-testing experience covering network, web, and internal tests and customer engagements.
• Relevant certifications such as CREST CRT, CREST CCT, OSCP, OSWE, OSCE, or an equivalent level.
• Proficiency with Burp Suite Pro, Nessus, and other industry-standard tools.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for stakeholder management, collaboration, and report writing.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team on penetration tests.
• Analytical, proactive, detail-oriented approach and ability to work under pressure in a changing threat landscape.
• Commitment to high ethical and professional standards.
• Right to work in the UK and eligibility for required security clearance.
