Professional Services Red Team Intern (Cybersecurity)

Location: Fully remote within the United Kingdom; interns should be within commuting distance of London, Reading, or Edinburgh for social events and team collaboration. Work is performed during standard UK business hours, Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week. Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK.

What you will do

• Shadow active red team engagements, observe tactics, techniques, and procedures, and interact with project managers and consultants.
• Manage a simulated red team engagement in a lab environment.
• Test for security vulnerabilities and misconfigurations and present findings in simulated client interactions.
• Work with the red team development team to define an internship project involving tooling or process improvement.
• Create, test, and demonstrate the project’s capabilities or improvements.

Requirements

• Be working toward a BA/BSc/BEng or MA/MSci/MEng undergraduate degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Forensics, Computer Science, Computer Systems Engineering, Electronic & Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Information Security, Information Systems, Information Assurance, Information Security Management, Intelligence Studies, Data Science, or a related field.
• Be in the penultimate year of an undergraduate programme, graduating in Summer 2028 or December 2027.
• Be eligible to work in the UK.
• Pass a full background check.
• Have proven experience using AI technologies to enhance decision-making, streamline workflows and processes, improve efficiency, and drive business outcomes.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of current vulnerabilities and offensive security tools, tactics, and procedures.
• Security community participation, including open-source tooling, blogs, or writeups.
• Experience with BloodHound, Cobalt Strike, Burp Suite, or Impacket.
• Experience using Windows in an Active Directory environment and building Windows or Linux virtual machines.
• Participation in capture-the-flag events or cybersecurity competitions.
• CRTO, OSCP, CRTL, OSEP, GPEN, or GXPN certifications.
• Familiarity with Windows, Linux, UNIX, or Mac operating systems; scripting and programming; networking concepts; and security methodologies, technologies, and best practices.
• Self-motivation, a growth mindset, interest in innovative work, ability to complete technical tasks with minimal supervision, and interest in developing technical and soft skills.
• Interest in pursuing a cybersecurity career and contributing to a positive work environment.
