Physical AI Distinguished Solutions Architect

Location: San Jose, CA; United States. The role requires satisfactory proof of the right to work in the United States.

Base pay: $295,000 annually, plus potential variable or incentive compensation, equity, healthcare, retirement plans, paid time off, and other benefits.

What you will do

• Define the technical solution narrative and product strategy for physical AI markets including humanoid robotics, cobots, AMRs, UAVs, drones, and medical robotics.
• Lead customer discovery sessions, requirements analysis, architecture workshops, and solution design activities with robotics companies and OEMs.
• Design architectures that connect sensors, actuators, real-time control systems, FPGAs, GPUs, XPUs, CPUs, and MCUs across distributed robotic systems.
• Architect whole-body, balance, motion, force, actuator coordination, and sensor-fusion control systems with sub-millisecond latency strategies.
• Define functional safety and security architectures, including secure boot, runtime trust, fault detection, and guidance on IEC 61508, ISO 13849, and ISO 10218.
• Drive design wins, demonstrators, reference platforms, proof-of-concept implementations, ecosystem partnerships, technical presentations, and revenue growth.

Requirements

• 8+ years of relevant experience in FPGA, programmable logic, digital computing, embedded silicon software, robotics, or autonomous systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience translating customer and market challenges into technical solution concepts and commercial value propositions.
• Experience with FPGA integration with GPUs or XPUs, embedded operating system architecture, sensor aggregation, and real-time control.
• Ability to architect distributed deterministic control across sensing, perception, motion control, safety, actuation, and AI inference.
• Ability to work with business development, sales, product planning, marketing, R&D, firmware, applications engineering, and ecosystem partners.
• Ability to communicate technical architectures to system architects, robotics OEMs, C-level executives, and technology partners.
• Ability to represent the company at physical AI, semiconductor, and robotics industry events.

Nice to have

• Graduate degree in engineering, business administration, or a related field.
• Experience with humanoids, cobots, AMRs, UAVs, drones, medical robotics, aerospace, defense-adjacent systems, or industrial edge applications.
• Experience with NVIDIA, Green Hills, Wind River, QNX, or other GPU/XPU and embedded OS ecosystems.
• Knowledge of secure boot, runtime trust, fault detection, and functional safety standards including IEC 61508, ISO 13849, and ISO 10218.
