Senior Machine Learning Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid across Canada; applicants may be based anywhere in Canada.

Salary: $135,000–$185,000 annually.

What you will do

• Conduct end-to-end analyses, including data wrangling with SQL or Python, statistical modeling, hypothesis development, and presentation of business ideas.
• Work with large and complex textual and visual datasets for content and contributor intelligence.
• Develop and deploy machine learning models for offline batch products and online real-time services.
• Fine-tune transformer models to derive embeddings for text, images, and videos.
• Productionize and automate model pipelines within Python services and contribute to the ML platforms supporting them.
• Mentor junior and newer engineers while advocating best practices in machine learning development and operations.

Requirements

• Experience developing and productionizing machine learning models, particularly neural networks, computer vision, and LLMs, including their supporting data pipelines.
• Experience with machine learning packages including PyTorch, TensorFlow, Spark MLlib, XGBoost, and scikit-learn.
• Strong coding skills in Python or an equivalent language such as Java or C++.
• Solid understanding of engineering and infrastructure best practices.
• Curiosity to identify solutions to new problems and persistence to carry ideas through to completion.

Nice to have

• Experience working with LLMs, using LLM APIs such as OpenAI or Bedrock, prompt engineering, and model evaluation.
