Research Assistant (Protein Synthesis and Cancer)

Location: Manchester, Greater Manchester, United Kingdom; Oglesby Cancer Research Building, 555 Wilmslow Road, M20 4GJ. Hybrid working arrangements may be considered.

Salary: £33,662 per annum, depending on relevant experience.

What you will do

• Conduct individual and collaborative research using models of colorectal cancer.
• Perform complex cell and molecular biology studies to improve understanding and treatment of cancer.
• Use initiative and creativity to identify research areas and develop research methods.
• Analyse and interpret data and draw conclusions from research outcomes.
• Communicate complex information clearly in oral, written, and electronic formats.
• Support the University’s policies and procedures promoting equality and diversity.

Requirements

• Have, or be about to obtain, a Master’s degree or equivalent in cancer or molecular biology.
• Specialist knowledge of cell culture and complex molecular biology methods.
• Ability to communicate in written and oral formats.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice to have

• Experience researching the molecular biology of colorectal cancer.
• Ability to develop techniques as required for individual projects.
