Finance Analyst (E-commerce)

Location: Cape Town, South Africa; onsite role within the Corporate FP&A team.

What you will do

• Own the Group's standardized reporting suite and finance Looker reporting across all business units.
• Define reporting standards, data definitions, controls, and governance to ensure accurate and complete management reporting.
• Lead the FP&A month-end process, including timetables, reconciliations, deliverables, quality reviews, and permanent fixes for reporting issues.
• Own the automation roadmap and redesign high-volume reporting processes using SQL, Looker, Excel, Google Sheets, Apps Script, and AI tools.
• Represent Finance in reporting and data projects with BI, IT, Tech, and Product, including requirements, testing, and delivery sign-off.
• Supervise and coach a Junior Finance Analyst while partnering with finance and operational stakeholders.

Requirements

• BCom (Hons) or equivalent qualification in Finance or Accounting.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in FP&A, management reporting, or a finance/BI role, including ownership of a month-end or reporting process.
• Demonstrated delivery of reporting automation or process redesign with measurable results.
• Strong understanding of accounting, management accounts, and financial reporting.
• Advanced Excel and working SQL skills, plus experience building in Looker or a similar BI tool.
• Owner's mindset, systems thinking, attention to detail, solution-building ability, and sound judgment.
• Clear written and verbal communication with confidence engaging senior stakeholders.
• Ability to collaborate with BI, Tech, and Product and translate finance needs into technical requirements.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment and coach junior colleagues.

Nice to have

• CA(SA), CIMA, or CFA completed or in progress.
• Familiarity with TM1, Sage, and Board.
• Exposure to Python or AI and automation tools.
• Experience in e-commerce, retail, marketplace, or technology.
• Experience supervising or mentoring junior analysts.
