Revenue Accountant

Location: Budapest, Pest, Hungary

Salary: HUF 12,500,000–15,000,000 per year plus eligibility for an annual bonus.

What you will do

• Own revenue recognition accounting across subscription and transactional product streams under ASC 606, including reviewing new and amended contracts.
• Prepare and post revenue-related journal entries in SAP, including deferred revenue, contract assets, and adjustments.
• Prepare period-end management reporting packages with full P&L variance analysis and commentary on business drivers.
• Develop forward-looking analysis of revenue trends, cost dynamics, and business performance for senior leadership and business partners.
• Identify and escalate risks, opportunities, anomalies, control gaps, and process inefficiencies.
• Partner with FP&A, Sales, Legal, Technology, and internal and external auditors on reporting, controls, walkthroughs, and audit deliverables; apply AI tools to automate processes and improve reporting.

Requirements

• 4–7 years of progressive accounting experience focused on revenue recognition.
• Strong working knowledge of US GAAP or IFRS.
• Experience in a public company environment with SOX compliance exposure.
• Hands-on experience with SAP, including GL, AR, or revenue modules, and RevStream or a comparable revenue subledger.
• Proficiency in Excel and financial reporting, including working with large data sets.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across Sales, Legal, FP&A, and Technology.

Nice to have

• CPA or international equivalent.
• Big 4 or national accounting firm background.
• Experience in financial services, data/analytics, or technology industries.
• Familiarity with AI tools applied to accounting or finance workflows, including automation, anomaly detection, or reporting.
