Software Engineering Manager (AI)

Location: Santa Clara, California; expected to work from the Santa Clara office in a primarily in-office environment.

Annual base salary: $193,000–$317,000 USD, with potential eligibility for incentive pay and/or equity.

What you will do

• Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of engineering talent, including strategic hiring, onboarding, team development, and psychological safety.
• Direct the architecture and technical strategy for core data services, including cloud mobility and high-availability systems.
• Manage high-impact roadmaps, agile workflows, technical debt, and predictable delivery of enterprise-grade features.
• Translate customer requirements and business strategy into technical priorities and long-term milestones in partnership with Product Management and Architecture.
• Mentor senior and staff-level engineers, guide career development, and promote modern software development practices.

Requirements

• Deep technical proficiency in architecting and shipping large-scale enterprise software, with specific experience in high-availability systems, cloud-native technologies, or storage protocols.
• Proven experience managing and growing software engineering teams and navigating organizational complexity.
• Mastery of delivery management and lean engineering processes, balancing feature velocity with system stability, security, and quality.
• Ability to communicate complex technical trade-offs and project health to executive leadership while staying connected to daily engineering challenges.
• Ability and willingness to work from the Santa Clara, California office, except during PTO, work travel, or other approved leave.
