Senior AI Platform Governance Engineer (AI)

Location: Fully remote from a non-hirify.global worksite, most commonly an employee's residence; listed location: New York, United States.

Salary: USD 115,000–145,000 yearly.

What you will do

• Design and maintain semantic models in Snowflake and Databricks using trusted business definitions, governed metrics, entities, lineage, and access patterns.
• Build CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code solutions for AI applications, agents, semantic models, and machine learning workloads across development, staging, and production.
• Create monitoring frameworks for latency, quality, reliability, model usage, and AI operational health.
• Define standards and governance frameworks for auditability, compliance, responsible AI adoption, models, agents, tools, datasets, and APIs.
• Implement RBAC, identity controls, and policy enforcement across AI platforms.
• Optimize AI infrastructure utilization, cloud consumption, and model, agent, and inference costs across Snowflake, Databricks, and supporting services.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, a related discipline, or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience in Data or Cloud Platform Engineering.
• Python, advanced SQL with Snowflake, AWS, semantic modeling, and Git.
• Experience with AI and databases, including Snowflake Cortex or Databricks Genie/Agent Bricks.
• Understanding of AI frameworks including LangGraph, MCP, and RAG.
• Terraform and Infrastructure as Code for cloud AI environments.
• Security and identity experience with RBAC, IAM policies, and Azure AD.
• AI FinOps experience with cloud cost allocation, tagging, and optimization.
• Docker and Kubernetes for containerization, model serving, and orchestration; excellent communication and presentation skills.

Nice to have

• 5+ years of experience with Snowflake; SnowPro Core or Advanced certification is preferred.
• 5+ years of experience with Databricks or Apache Spark.
• 3+ years of experience owning MLOps or AIOps pipelines.
• 3+ years of experience with CI/CD tooling, including GitHub Actions, Terraform, or dbt.
• 1+ years of experience integrating LLM or Generative AI platforms.
