Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote; Miami

Salary: $100–$200/hour; approximately 20–40 hours per week, starting ASAP, through October with possible extensions.

What you will do

• Evaluate AI-generated coding interactions end-to-end using tools such as OpenAI Codex, Claude Code, and Cursor.
• Judge whether responses are useful, correct at a high level, and aligned with strong engineering judgment.
• Assess the quality and usefulness of explanations, reasoning, preambles, and guidance—not only syntax or code correctness.
• Distinguish between different levels of response quality and identify what makes an interaction feel misleading or ineffective.
• Provide clear, direct, and opinionated feedback on what worked, what did not, and what felt wrong.
• Help define what great interaction quality looks like for AI-first development tools.

Requirements

• Staff- or Principal-level software engineer, or equivalent experience.
• Strong background in Go, Python, Rust, or TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Hands-on experience using OpenAI Codex, Claude Code, Cursor, or similar tools.
• Deep familiarity with modern AI-assisted development workflows.
• Ability to evaluate code without fully executing or deeply reviewing every line.
• Comfort providing direct, opinionated feedback and making subjective but rigorous judgments.
• High standards for engineering quality and strong engineering taste.

Nice to have

• Experience with Cursor or similar AI-first IDEs.
• Prior exposure to prompt design or evaluation workflows.
• Experience mentoring senior engineers or defining engineering standards.
