Avionics Test Specialist (Avionics)

What you will do

• Review hardware requirements, schematics, block diagrams, and interface documentation to identify test objectives, risks, and coverage gaps.
• Plan test methods, instrumentation, configurations, measurements, and pass/fail criteria for prototype and production hardware.
• Create and maintain test plans, acceptance test procedures, checklists, test instructions, reports, and revision-controlled records.
• Build, configure, and verify test setups using bench instruments, DAQ systems, harnesses, fixtures, and automated test equipment.
• Perform hardware bring-up, functional verification, integration testing, and repeatable bench testing; capture traceable results and anomalies.
• Troubleshoot failures, distinguish DUT issues from fixture, instrumentation, wiring, software, or procedure problems, and work with engineering and manufacturing teams to verify corrective actions.

Requirements

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in electrical, electronics, avionics, or hardware testing, or equivalent demonstrated capability.
• Ability to plan and perform tests independently rather than only follow existing procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, block diagrams, wiring diagrams, and technical requirements.
• Proficiency with oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, power supplies, logic analyzers, and related test equipment.
• Experience writing test procedures, defining pass/fail criteria, documenting results, and systematically troubleshooting failures.
• Strong communication, technical documentation, and problem-solving skills.
• Must satisfy applicable ITAR eligibility requirements: be a U.S. citizen or national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or eligible to obtain the required U.S. Department of State authorizations.
• Must be available to work extended hours and weekends as needed.

Nice to have

• Experience with aerospace or defense hardware, embedded electronics, avionics, or system integration testing.
• Experience with NI DAQ hardware, LabVIEW, automated test equipment, and test fixtures.
• Familiarity with CAN, UART, RS-422/485, Ethernet, and discrete I/O.
• Experience supporting product development, design verification, acceptance testing, or production failure analysis.
• Associate degree or technical training in electronics or a related discipline; an engineering degree is a plus.
