Senior Operations Manager, Fraud (Ecommerce)

Location: Brooklyn, New York, US; candidates should be within commutable distance of the Brooklyn office and attend once or twice per week. Remote candidates outside commuting distance may be considered case by case, with occasional travel to the office expected.

Salary: Geo-1 USD 182,000–246,000 annual; Geo-2 USD 164,000–222,000 annual.

What you will do

• Set strategic direction for critical fraud verticals, define measurable objectives and key results, and connect operational work to business-critical metrics.
• Lead, hire, coach, and develop investigators and senior investigators while building the future leadership bench.
• Own outsourced and internal fraud operations, including service-level agreements, quality standards, capacity, cost, headcount planning, and vendor relationships.
• Build investigative capabilities to identify, mitigate, and prevent fraud at scale through manual reviews, automated detection, and enforcement levers.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, and Data Science on detection, tooling, and machine-learning roadmaps and hold partnerships accountable for operational outcomes.
• Coordinate responses to emerging risks and high-stakes investigations, establish operating metrics and runbooks, and represent Risk & Fraud in executive and cross-functional forums.

Requirements

• 5+ years of operations leadership experience, including 2+ years directly in Risk and Fraud.
• Strong quantitative instincts and comfort using operational metrics, loss and cost models, and data to frame trade-offs.
• Familiarity with fraud detection systems, machine-learning-driven decisioning, or rules and controls platforms.
• Experience working with outsourced or vendor operations teams.
