IT Infrastructure Specialist

Location: Tokyo, Sumida-ku, Japan (Hybrid)

What you will do

• Operate, maintain, configure, modify, and optimize Linux, AWS, networking, virtualization, and on-premises infrastructure.
• Administer AWS resources including EC2, VPCs, subnets, route tables, security groups, IAM, CloudWatch, S3/EBS storage, and DNS.
• Manage Linux systems, TCP/IP networking, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls, switches, and connectivity across cloud and on-premises environments.
• Operate Proxmox VE clusters, including ZFS storage, VM/LXC provisioning, high availability, backups, and cluster health monitoring.
• Maintain Prometheus and Grafana monitoring, implement patching and access controls, and coordinate vulnerability remediation.
• Design and validate backup and recovery strategies, document architectures and SOPs, respond to incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and support engineering, operations, and mission teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above in IT Engineering, Computer Science, or a related subject.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in IT infrastructure, system administration, or network engineering.
• Business-level bilingual English and Japanese proficiency, both written and verbal.
• Strong experience managing Linux estates, including system building, deployment, software management, and reporting.
• Hands-on experience with AWS EC2, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, and AWS storage services.
• Solid knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, firewalls, and network switch management.
• Practical experience with Proxmox VE or an equivalent hypervisor platform.
• Proficiency in Bash and/or Python for automation and operational tooling.
• Strong communication, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Extensive Terraform experience for infrastructure-as-code provisioning and Ansible experience for complex configuration management.
• Experience with Docker, container platforms, or Kubernetes supporting infrastructure services.
• Practical understanding of SRE concepts, including SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, capacity planning, and reliability metrics.
• Experience supporting AI/ML workloads, GPU passthrough, or local LLM deployment environments.
• AWS certifications such as Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator, or equivalent.
• Technical leadership, mentoring, or on-call coordination experience.
